Your space does not list your connected devices. Here are the two buttons that close a session, and what to do when a sign-in surprises you.
A session is your sign-in kept open in a browser: the one that saves you from typing your password at every visit. A new session opens each time you sign in on a phone or on a computer, and it stays open until something closes it. Your space gives you two moves to close them: one closes the session you are using, the other closes all the rest.
Your space does not list your connected devices. No screen today tells you « signed in from this phone, on this date, from this city »: neither the « Profile » tab nor any other page of your space keeps that list for you.
What you can do is more direct than reading a list: close every session except your own in one move, without needing to know which ones are open. That is the move described below, and it is enough to take back control of a device you no longer have.
| The button | Where it sits | What it closes |
|---|---|---|
| « Sign out » | At the top of every page of your space | The session of this browser, the one you are using |
| « Sign out the other devices » | « Profile » tab, « Security » section | All your other sessions, yours stays open |
« Sign out » takes you back to the sign-in page. Nothing is lost on the way: your appointments, your family members and your preferences wait for you at the next sign-in. « Sign out the other devices » does not sign you out, you stay exactly on the page you were reading.
Open the « Profile » tab
It is the last tab of your space. The page opens on your details.
Go to the « Security » section
The « Register » index, set beside the page, takes you there in one click. It is also the section that handles your password.
Press « Sign out the other devices »
The button sits in the confirm bar of that section, next to the button that changes the password.
Read the confirmation
The message « Other devices signed out. » tells you every other session is closed. Yours carries on without a break.
On the closed devices nothing shows at that very moment. It is on the next page that your space asks for a sign-in again, and the password has to be typed once more.
With no device list to read, the doubt is settled by acting. Make the three moves below, in this order.
Close the other sessions
« Sign out the other devices » cuts access at once, everywhere except on the device in your hand.
Change your password
The same « Security » section handles it, and the new password needs at least 12 characters. The steps are in changing your password.
Turn on two-factor authentication
Once it is on, a verification code is asked for at every sign-in, on top of the password. That code comes from an app on your phone, for instance Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Setting it up is described in protecting your account.
The « Security » section asks for your current password before it accepts a new one. Without it, the way through is the reset link sent to your email address, described in forgotten password.
That road closes more widely: a password set through the reset link signs out every open session, including the one you are using. You sign in again right after with the new password.
A session lasts at most 30 days from the sign-in that opened it. After that it stops on its own, and your space asks for your email address and your password again. Signing in opens a fresh session, with 30 new days ahead of it.
Here is everything that closes a session today:
The rest of the « Profile » tab has its own guide: your name, your phone number and your email address are edited in updating your profile.
