When you tap a time on a clinic's page, that time is held for you for 7 minutes, while you finish booking.
On the search results and on a clinic's page, the times on show are buttons. When you tap one and confirm, noresia sets that time aside for you for 7 minutes, while you go through to the end. A held time is not an appointment yet: it is a short protection, with a visible countdown, and it always comes to an end.
Tap a time
The times are read on the directory cards and on each clinic's page, next to the practitioner who offers them.
Confirm in the Book this time window
The window names the time, the practitioner when it is known, and how long the protection lasts: 7 minutes. Confirm holds the time for you. Cancel leaves it open to everyone.
Finish the booking
You land on the booking page with the protection already in place. The rest of the way is described step by step in the guide on booking an appointment.
On the booking page, a band repeats your time and the practitioner, in the form The... time is held for you. Next to it, a countdown in minutes and seconds falls every second down to zero. A Release button closes the line.
The protection survives if you sign in or create your account along the way: it follows you from one end of the journey to the other.
At zero the band disappears and the time goes back on offer to everyone. No message warns you, and nothing you had already filled in is lost. Booking reads the times genuinely free at the moment you confirm: if nobody took that time in between, you can still book it.

The calendar reloads with the times free right now, not the ones you saw a moment earlier.
Take the same time again if it is still there
Confirming the booking is enough. The protection is not required in order to book, it only buys you time.
Choose another time if it has been taken
The page then shows This time has just been taken. Another time or another day often opens a place close by.
You can keep 3 times held at once, at one clinic or across several. On the fourth, the confirmation window stays open and states the rule instead of leaving you to guess: You already hold 3 times. Finish one booking, or wait for them to expire.
Three moves give a held time back without anything being counted against you.
A time counts as abandoned when its countdown runs all the way out without a booking. Every three abandoned times make one step, and the steps rise.

A booking carried through to the end resets the abandoned counter to zero. The steps already reached stay on record: they are what decides the next hold.
In your space, the Account standing block shows Times held and Times abandoned, each one against its limit, with a sentence naming the next step, for example 1 more before a 5-hour hold. That is where you see a hold coming before it lands.
